Romsey, Hampshire

n the south aisle of Romsey Abbey, is the grave of Sir William Petty (1623-1687), the political economist, one of the forerunners of the Royal Society at Oxford, a founder of the Royal Society and general polymath [Greenwood, pp.118-120]. The grave has an superb life-size effigy of him.
